How to use:

Buddha Rice is cooked like any other normal rice. Soak it in clean water for 15–20 minutes, and cook in a pressure cooker with 2 whistle. Can be cooked in open vessel, too.

Kala Namak Rice stands out due to its unique natural aroma, black husk, high iron & zinc content, double protein compared to common rice, and very low glycemic index (GI 49–52). It also contains antioxidants like anthocyanins, giving added benefits to heart and skin health.

It has strong cultural heritage — historically linked to Lord Buddha, who is said to have sown it in the Siddharth Nagar region thousands of years ago. Because of this sacred origin, it is still considered a heritage grain of Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

YES. It has a low GI score of 49–52, making it digest slowly and preventing sudden spikes in blood sugar — ideal for Type-2 diabetes management and weight control.

✔ Rich in Iron & Zinc — supports blood health & immunity
High Protein (12%) — nearly double vs. regular rice
Antioxidants (anthocyanins & beta-carotene) — protect the heart & skin
Low GI — supports metabolic and heart health
✔ Provides essential nutrients for children, adults & elderly

The Government of India selected Kala Namak under the Nutri-Farm Scheme because its iron & zinc density helps fight major micronutrient deficiencies like anemia and weak immunity — especially in women & children.

It is a white grain after milling but with a black husk pre-polishing. After cooking, grains turn fluffy, aromatic, soft, non-sticky, and elongate well without breaking — perfect for biryani, pulao & daily meals.

  • High dietary fibre and low-calorie properties facilitate weight loss; promote healthy digestion and help prevent constipation. Consumption of kala namak rice daily promotes satiety, helping in portion control and reducing overall calorie consumption.
  • Rich Micro nutrients – Rich in Iron (prevents anaemia) and Zinc (supports skin health), Magnesium (supports sleep), Potassium (supports heart health), Vitamin B1, B3, B6 and Vit E.
  • Anthocyanins – Provide antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic effect, improve cardio vascular and skin health, strengthen immunity; potentially reducing the risk of chronic diseases.
  • Rich aroma – Natural fragrance similar to Basmati but more earthy and mild.

It's important to note that while Kala namak rice is associated with these potential benefits, individual responses may vary. A balanced diet and healthy lifestyle are crucial for overall well-being.
